Yerra was engaged as the cultural advisor to the Department of Human Services, a role which involved a significant contribution to the development of systems and methodologies to enable effective communication with Aboriginal and Torres Straits Islander clients. Yerra’s Dion Devow is currently engaged by ASPI (the Australian Strategic Policy Institute) as its Indigenous Engagement Speciaist.
Yerra also provides these services to CASA (Civil Aviation Services Authority), the ACT Government and several other federal government agencies.
Dion has over 20 years of experience working in an around community development, and has previously established successful businesses. In 2014 he was awarded ACT NAIDOC business person of the year by the ACT Chief Ministers and Economic Development Directorate, and is currently ACT NAIDOC Person of the year. Dion is also an Ambassador for Indigenous Community Volunteers, and been a member of the ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elected Body, which is a highly respected advisory board elected by the community to advise local government of local Indigenous issues.
